Finished on and inspired by the Fourth of July, 2010. "Independence" is a composition of oil on canvas with a museum width frame (2-3/8"). The primary rich blue and red background is offset by the neutral gray and ivory tones fused with ochre top layer. Texture, dimension and movement are key to this piece in the ability to see through all the varying layers that move through to the foundation of blue and red.
